REN’s Sines LNG import terminal on Portugal’s Atlantic coast is scheduled to receive a cargo of liquefied natural gas over the weekend.
According to the data provided by the Port of Sines, the 160,000-cbm LNG carrier Malanje, is scheduled to deliver the cargo on January 21.
The vessel transporting the cargo was built in 2011 by the South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries and is jointly owned by NYK LNG, the European unit of NYK Line (33 percent), Mitsui (34 percent), and Teekay (33 percent).
The Chevron-led 5.2 million tons per year Angola LNG plant in Soyo restarted production earlier this month after a shutdown during late December.
The Sines LNG terminal located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast in the industrial area of Sines port has a nominal sendout capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour (5.26 bcm per year), with a peak capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour.
