Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA) has just announced its intentions to “restart” relations with leading Ukrainian and international dredging companies.
Dredging works will become clear and predictable for businesses, and the transparency of the tender documents will be increased, the Acting CEO of USPA, Raivis Veckagans , informed on January 20 during a meeting with representatives of the transport business at the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.
“ Implementation of port development plans, including dredging works are among of my priority-driven plans. The current situation around these works is far from norm. In the near future, I will hold a meeting with the leading dredging companies, which are interested in Ukrainian market and we will develop a civilized strategy and unified rules allowing to “restart” our relations ,” said Vetskagans.
“ We are open for dialogue and cooperation to everyone. The procurement should be completely transparent and clear as Ukrainian ports and business expect for development and our primal task is to provide it ,” added Vetskagans.
The CEO stressed that all the initiatives launched in the frameworks of cooperation between USPA and other businesses will continue, however, tender procedures should become a model of transparency and openness.
In order to conduct an audit of tender documentation and analysis of compliance of tender conditions with legal requirements the deadline for submission of proposals for the dredging works in the Port of Yuzhny will be extended by 2 months.

In addition, as of January 20, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has received for consideration two complaints from bidders Jan de Nul NV and Van Oord.
Previously, the port authority has invited for participation in the tender both foreign and Ukrainian dredging companies. All the tender documents were posted at Prozorro public procurement system.
