IKM has recently secured a contract award from Subsea 7 based in Aberdeen.
Subsea 7 has won the subsea, umbilical, riser and flowline (SURF) contract with Maersk Oil. The company will make and install underwater equipment for the new Culzean gas field.
The Culzean gas condensate field in the UK Central North Sea is located in Block 22/25 at water depth of approximately 90 metres.
Engineering works have already begun for the Culzean project, with the first phase of offshore operations due to start in Q2 2017.
“This is a sizeable pre-commissioning SURF project and a significant win for IKM in an extremely competitive environment,” the company said.
Culzean is expected to produce enough gas to meet 5 per cent of total UK demand at peak production in 2020/21.
