In today’s spotted we bring you an image of the final block to be erected for the Palmetto State, the fifth ECO Class tanker being built for crude oil transporter American Petroleum Tankers (APT) by Californian shipbuilder General Dynamics NASSCO.
Palmetto State is the last vessel to be constructed as part of an eight-ship ECO Class tanker program for two companies including APT and SEA-Vista LLC.
“As the final tanker in an eight-ship program, NASSCO shipbuilders processed 90,000 tons of steel to construct the Palmetto State and her sister ships,” the shipbuilder said.
Scheduled to be completed in June 2017, the 53,700 dwt tanker will feature a length of 187.8 meters and a width of 32 meters, according to VesselsValue’s data.
In September 2016, NASSCO held a keel-laying ceremony for Palmetto State. Later that month, the shipbuilder handed over Bay State, the fourth vessel built for APT.
