Dutch shipbuilder and maritime equipment supplier, Royal IHC, recently launched two LNG-fueled trailing suction hopper dredgers it had built for the Belgian company DEME.
The first vessel, the Minerva , was launched at the beginning of December last year, while the second vessel, the Scheldt River , was launched earlier this month.
With an overall length of 115.9 meters and a breadth of 25 meters, Scheldt River has a hopper capacity of 7,950 cubic meters. The Minerva TSHD has the hopper capacity of 3,500-cbm.
IHC on Thursday released a video showing the process of the construction of the Scheldt River at IHC’s shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands.
