The Linde Group has secured a contract for a mid-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Portovaya, located in Russia at the Baltic Sea.

The technology company has won the contract from Russia’s Gazprom and project EPC contractor SRDI Oil & Gas Peton.

Germany-based Linde did not reveal the value of the deal.

The production, storage and shipment complex will liquefy natural gas coming from the nearby compressor station which is part of Gazprom’s Nord Stream pipeline.

Under the contract with Peton, Linde will perform basic engineering for the process plant and supply the equipment and related bulk material for the cryogenic units of the plant.

Aldo Belloni , chief executive officer of Linde said the facility with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons of LNG bridges the gap between small and world-scale LNG projects.

Both companies are already cooperating on other projects like the Amur gas processing plant Russia’s far east.
