OceaNET is organizing its final workshop on the array design and operation of offshore wave and wind farms.
The workshop will bring together a pool of experts and young up-and-coming researchers from the offshore renewables sector to sum up the main findings of the project and discuss current and future challenges of this emerging industry, OceaNET informed.
OceaNET is a multinational Initial Training Network (ITN) set up with a goal to train 13 early stage researchers in the area of floating offshore wind and wave energies to support the emerging marine renewable energy sector.
The program for the event, to be held in Bilbao on March 27, 2017, will cover topics on array design, implementation and operation and maintenance of offshore wind and wave energy, with special focus on the work carried out in the scope of the OceaNET Project.
The discussion will also explore the benefits of Initial/Innovative Training Networks to the development of the industry and to market integration, according to OceaNET.
The workshop, titled Offshore Renewable Energy farm design and O&M, will take place as a side event of the Bilbao Marine Energy Week.
OceaNET project, coordinated by WavEC Offshore Renewables, began in September 2013, with the funding provided by the the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme PEOPLE.
