Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard (Group) Co. Ltd. has completed the first steel cutting for the marine fleet of MBA Delta iron sands project in Fiji.
The vessel series, being built to meet Bureau Veritas’ standards, includes bucket wheel dredger, work boat, pusher tug and iron sands concentrator barge.
The company said that these vessels are designed according to the international mainstream type and represent the advanced level of the engineering vessels.
MBA Delta iron sands mine, located at the mouth of Ba River on the northwest coast of Vitu Levu island in Fiji, is the primary mining project of Amex Resources.
The mine is spread over 132 square kilometers and extends partly into water.
