First Subsea has secured a contract from Allseas to supply a 42” Ballgrab pipeline recovery tool (PRT) for the Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline project, offshore Mexico.

Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline is a 700-kilometer subsea gas pipeline that will interconnect with the Nueces-Brownsville pipeline and the Tuxpan-Tula pipeline.

The pipeline will begin at the border point near Brownsville, Texas and end in Tuxpan, in the state of Veracruz.

According to First Subsea social media update, the PRT is designed and constructed in a modular manner, accommodating different pipe specifications as well as permitting various pigging, dewatering and sealing scenarios.

“ It’s great to be working with Allseas again, especially on this prestigious project,” said Phil Day, proposals manager, First Subsea.
