All-Energy 2017 Conference has set up an investment challenge for individuals or companies from the marine renewable energy sector as part of the conference program dedicated to marine renewables.

The winner of the All-Energy 2017 Marine Renewable Energy Investment Challenge will benefit from up to £10,000-worth of advice from lawyers, stockbrokers, investment bankers, accountants, communications experts and marketers.

The challenge is open to all marine energy renewables including tidal stream, tidal barrage, tidal lagoon, wave, OTEC, salinity gradient and floating offshore wind, All-Energy informed.

By entering the challenge, up to five short-listed candidates, who may be individuals or representing companies or projects, will have an opportunity for a 10-minute elevator pitch each, according to Jonathan Heastie, the Event Director of Reed Exhibitions – the organizer of the event.

Each of the candidates will then get five minutes of immediate feedback from the panel of experts, and the winner will benefit from a specially tailored workshop, sponsored by Atlantis Resources and designed to help the candidate to raise funds, Heastie added.

Tim Cornelius, CEO of Atlantis Resources, will chair the session, with Jock Maxwell Macdonald, Director at Peel Hunt; Nick Stamp, Executive Director at Macquarie Capital; Cameron Smith, Partner at Ashurst lawyers; Ben Brewerton, Director at FTI Consulting; and Jonnie Cox, Equity Sales at Cantor Fitzgerald.

Tim Cornelius said: “There may only be one winner, but I hope that the advice and feedback given during the session will help many others there on the day.”

The interested parties should submit a maximum five-page standard business plan by March 28, 2017, to all-energy@reedexpo.co.uk with ‘Investment Challenge’ in the subject line.

The short-listed candidates will be notified by mid-April, All-Energy noted, while the event will be held in the ‘Marine Renewable Energy’ stream of the conference on the opening day of the All-Energy 2017 on May 10 at the Scottish Events Campus in Glasgow.
