San Diego-based shipbuilder General Dynamics NASSCO on Monday took the LNG-ready product tanker Liberty being built for SEA-Vista to sea for the tests and trials.
The 610-foot-long, 50,000 deadweight ton, LNG-conversion-ready ECO Class tanker is the last vessel of three ECO-class tankers contract with SEA-Vista, a SEACOR Holdings and Avista Capital Partners company.
The vessel designed by DSEC, a subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of Busan, South Korea, the tanker will feature a G-series MAN ME slow-speed main engine and an optimized hull form.
NASSCO laid the keel for the Liberty in May this year, with the launching and christening taking place in December last year.
The company has previously delivered the first two ECO Class tankers for SEA-Vista, the Independence and the Constitution .
Once delivered the Liberty will also be operated by Seabulk Tankers.
