Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has been awarded a contract for a jack-up rig from ExxonMobil in Canada.
In its fleet status report on Thursday, Noble reported that the 2013-built jack-up drilling rig Noble Regina Allen has been hired for a 22-well plug and abandonment (P&A) program, which is expected to require up to two years to complete.
The contract is expected to start between the fourth quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018, at a dayrate of $88,500.
The jack-up is currently in the UK sector of the North Sea working for an undisclosed client from early October 2016. The contract expires in early April 2017.
The driller also said that the 1999-built semi-submersible drilling rig Noble Danny Adkins has been cold stacked in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
Furthermore, the 2013-built drillship Noble Bob Douglas is en route from the Gulf of Mexico to Suriname where it will be working for Apache starting March 2017 until May 2017. The drillship’s dayrate has not been revealed.
