The Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme (FAS), led by Leeds City Council in partnership with the Environment Agency, is split into two phases.
Phase 1 began in January 2015 and is due to be completed in summer 2017.
When complete, it will provide an increased level of protection from flooding from the River Aire and Hol Beck for residents and businesses in the city center. The scheme also includes defenses at Woodlesford.
Work on Phase 2 is now progressing. Leeds City Council has awarded a contract for a feasibility study which will look at the viability of the options looked at in the scoping study.
