Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has released a report on diving in 2016.
There were no personal-injury incidents reported in 2016, but one near-miss during saturation diving in connection with petroleum activities.
The results that are presented in the report are from the DSYS diving database, PSA noted.
Activity level
In 2016, the activity level for saturation diving was 44,569 man-hours in saturation, a fall of around 23 per cent from the preceding year and somewhat lower than the average activity level in the last 20 years, which is 63,000 man-hours in saturation.
For surface-oriented diving, 219 man-hours in the water were reported in 2016, and no incidents.
In 2016, there were no reports of incidents involving personal injuries.
