Minesto has hired Subsea Energy Solutions to provide bend restrictors for its Deep Green tidal plant.
UK-based engineering company Subsea Energy Solutions will supply super duplex stainless bend restrictors to Minesto for its Deep Green tidal energy ‘kite’.
Minesto had previously hired Subsea Energy Solutions to supply the fairing – the outer casing of the tether enclosing the tether rope as well as cables for communication and power transmission.
Swedish tidal energy company, Minesto, is developing a 500kW tidal power plant in the form of a ‘flying’ kite tethered to the sea bottom.
The plant is due to be installed at the Holyhead Deep, off North Wales, later this year.
It will be followed by more installations to form a 10MW tidal array, or potentially , an 80MW tidal array.
