SR2000 exporting power

Scotrenewables Tidal Power’s SR2000 tidal turbine is exporting power after being deployed at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC).

Scotrenewables Tidal Power’s SR2000 tidal turbine is exporting power after being deployed at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC).

The redeployment of the turbine was announced last week .

Orkney-based marine service provider Green Marine UK was engaged to tow the the 2MW tidal device this week from Hatston berth to the Falls of Warness tidal test site.

Scotrenewables first installed the SR2000 turbine at EMEC in October last year.

The 550-tonne device consists of a 64 meters floating hull that incorporates two 1MW rotors mounted on retractable legs.
