Swan Hunter has taken delivery of a new 450Te reel drive system from Motive Offshore.

According to Swan Huter who previously took delivery of Motive’s 15Te horizontal 2 track tensioner, the equipment has completed the factory acceptance testing program and is now ready for operations.

“We are pleased to receive delivery of this reel drive system. The unique design, with a swift and simple site assembly process, offers an interesting alternative to other systems on the market” said package manager, John Young .

The vertical screw jacking system allows the system to accommodate reel diameters ranging from 5.0m to 11.4m, with no need to mobilise additional packing frames beneath the towers. The reel drive system can also operate in constant tension mode, supplementing the manual operation modes.

“This marks completion of what has been one of the biggest manufacturing projects that our team has undertaken so far in our company history,” Motive Offshore noted.
