Survey Equipment Services (SES) placed an order with Sonardyne for a Mini-Ranger 2 USBL tracking system and multiple Nano transponders, during the recent Underwater Intervention show in New Orleans.

Measuring 155 mm and weighing 200 grams in water, Nano is designed to be fitted to a diver or small ROV/AUV. It uses contactless charging and incorporates Sonardyne’s 6G Wideband 2 acoustic signal architecture, delivering fast positioning performance, the company explained.

Alan Craig , vice president of SES said, “It’s not often that we see equipment at trade shows like Underwater Intervention and decide there and then that we need it in our rental pool. However as soon as we saw the Mini-Ranger 2 and Nano hardware and understood how it would assist our clients in their operations – especially on the safety side – we immediately placed the order.”

Dan Zatezalo , sales manager for Sonardyne in Houston said, “We invest a great deal of time and money attending tradeshows around the world. It can take several months for us to assess the return on investment for each event, but not for this year’s Underwater Intervention. It was very encouraging to close the show with a purchase order in our hands.”
