Wave Energy Scotland (WES) is looking to appoint an individual or organization to act as its independent third party advisor for all the novel wave energy converter (NWEC) stage 2 projects.

The role of the third party advisor is to provide an independent appraisal of the physical modelling and numerical simulation activities undertaken by the NWEC stage 2 projects.

The candidate or organization will seek to provide confidence in the outcomes of the NWEC stage 2 projects by advising WES on the consistency with industry best practice methodologies and the credibility of the outputs.

To remind, WES has in 2015 allocated £2.25 million to 8 technology developers and consortia to take their technologies through WES’ stage one technology development process over the period of 12 months.

It is anticipated that up to four stage 1 projects will be selected to progress to stage 2.

Project duration is scheduled for up to 16 months, beginning mid-May 2017.

The deadline for applications has been set for April 11, 2017.

WES is a subsidiary of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) established by the Scottish government to advance the wave energy sector in Scotland.
