DCNS Energies will collaborate with the French region of Brittany to develop sites suitable for large-scale tidal and floating wind farms deployment.

The partnership between DCNS Energies and the Council of Brittany will see the two parties increase their collaboration to structure the conditions for future industrial developments of marine renewable energies in the region.

They also intend to exploit the export opportunities to arise from the marine renewables know-how developed in Brittany, as well as to develop the supply chain around the port of Brest.

Dominique Ramard , in charge of energy transition at the Regional Council of Brittany, said: “Through these partnership agreements, the Regional Council intends to propose to the developers of marine renewable energies a ‘global offer’ that allows to mobilize all the regional tools in support of their industrial ambitions.”

The news follows yesterday’s announcement the upcoming tender for tidal energy projects in France, made by the French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Ségolène Royal, which will be launched after the precise demonstration zones in Brittany and Normandy are identified.
