REN-operated Sines LNG import terminal in Portugal is set to receive a new cargo of the chilled fuel, shipping data by the Port of Sines shows.
The cargo was loaded aboard Knutsen’s 2016-built ME-GI LNG carrier Rioja Knutsen with a cargo capacity of 176,300 at Cheniere’s Sabine Pass liquefaction and export facility in Louisiana.
According to the Port of Sines data, the vessel is scheduled to deliver the cargo on April 9. It will be the fourth Sabine Pass cargo to land at the Sines LNG terminal.
Like its sister vessel, the La Mancha Knutsen, Rioja Knutsen, bulit by the South Korean shipbuilder, Hyundai Heavy Industries, is under a charter contract with the Spanish LNG operator, Gas Natural Fenosa.
Sines LNG terminal, located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, has a nominal send out capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour (5.26 bcm per year), with a peak capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour.
