Norwegian oilfield services player Aker Solutions has reduced its workforce by some 4,800 since 2014.
According to the company’s latest corporate responsibility report, total staff count has been cut by 23 percent from 2014 to 2016. Aker Solutions’ workforce dropped to 16,177 in 2016 from 20,974 employees in 2014.
James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) has acquired a Cornwall-based specialist survey company Insight Marine Projects.
The acquisition will see the addition of hydrographic/geophysical survey and construction support to JFMS’s existing offering to the renewables, oil and gas and civil engineering markets.
Fugro is set to begin ‘phase two’ of cable laying operations at the Rampion offshore wind farm, following a winter break.
According to Rampion Offshore Wind weekly notice of operations, Fugro Symphony will return to the site on April 7, 2017 to install the remaining 62 cables in phase two. Completion is expected by summer 2017.
Malaysian oil and gas services provider SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad has changed its name to Sapura Energy Berhad with effect from March 24, 2017.
The name Sapura Energy Berhad was approved and reserved by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) in February 2017.
TechnipFMC has been awarded a contract by Shell for the delivery, integration, and installation of the subsea production system (SPS) and subsea riser, jumper and flowline (SURF) equipment for phase one of the Kaikias deep water project in the Gulf of Mexico.
Kaikias is located in the prolific Mars-Ursa basin approximately 210 kilometers from the Louisiana coast and is estimated to contain more than 100 million barrels of oil equivalent recoverable resources.
