Specialist Marine Consultants (SMC) informed that the company had completed 1 million safe transfers in March 2017, with the number increasing daily.

SMC has so far been working on multiple offshore wind projects across Europe including, among others, Veja Mate , Baltic 2 , and Gode Wind in Germany, and Gemini project in the Netherlands.

The company also recently signed a contract with DONG Energy to provide client representatives to monitor turbine and inter-array cable installation works at the Race Bank offshore wind farm in the UK.

During marine coordination, SMC is using its Atlas system , a recording and tracking system to manage vessels and personnel during offshore construction projects, designed by marine coordinators.

“Using our own bespoke recording and tracking system Atlas, this allows us to coordinate all in-sea movements and track unlimited personnel at any one time. Atlas allows for collation of operational statistics, which includes fuel usage, number of transfers, HSE, carbon footprint and a fully customisable task progress overview map, helping SMC to deliver safe and efficient transfers and track all personnel working offshore at any time,” the company said as it announced the safe transfers milestone.
