France’s Dunkirk LNG regasification terminal on Friday received its second commercial cargo of liquefied natural gas from Qatar.

The cargo was delivered by the Fraiha LNG carrier with the capacity of 210,152-cbm under the sales and purchase agreement signed between EDF and RasGas in June 2016.

Commercial operations at the Dunkirk LNG terminal began on January 1, 2017.

Under the terms of the SPA, RasGas will supply up to two million tons per annum of Qatari LNG into Dunkirk, complementing the existing long-term SPAs between RasGas ventures and EDF Group subsidiaries, Edison and EDF Trading.

Dunkirk LNG terminal has an annual regasification capacity of 13 billion cubic meters and is owned and operated by Dunkerque LNG, a company 65 percent owned by EDF, 25 percent by Fluxys and 10 percent by Total.
