Offshore driller Seadrill Partners LLC has secured a one-well contract with BP for the West Aquarius rig in eastern Canada.

According to Seadrill’s statement on Friday, the contract is expected to start in the second quarter of 2018.

The backlog for the contract, estimated to be a maximum of 120 days, is expected to be approximately $31 million, the driller said.

Earlier this year, the rig was awarded a contract with Statoil for two wells plus a two-well option. The contract was scheduled to start following the conclusion of the unit’s current contract with Hibernia in early April 2017.

The backlog for the firm part of the contract with the Norwegian oil company was estimated at 70 days.

West Aquarius is a semi-submersible drilling rig of a GVA 7500 design. It was built in 2009 by South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard.
