Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the first Lithuanian LNG terminal reported a 6.9 percent drop in sales revenue from the facility during March 2017.
Revenue from the facility during March reached €5.4 million (Approx: US$ 5.7 million), compared to €5.8 million in the corresponding month last year.
Klaipedos Nafta also reported a 2.2 percent increase in revenue from €18.1 million in the first three months of 2016 to €18.5 million in the January-March period of this year.
Höegh LNG’s FSRU Independence located in the port of Klaipeda regasified 652,000 MWh of LNG and supplied it to the natural gas transmission system, a 71.8 percent drop in comparison to the 2,313,000 MWh in the corresponding month in 2016.
In the first three months of this year, the facility regasified 1,542,000 MWh of LNG, 69.7 percent less compared to the 5,088,000 MWh in the first three months of 2016.
The largest of the three Baltic nations, Lithuania started importing LNG in December 2014 in order to reduce its dependence on Russian pipeline gas supplies.
Deliveries to Lithuania’s LNG terminal are being split between Litgas, a part of state-controlled energy group Lietuvos Energija, Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas, and Lithuanian fertilizer producer Achema.
