The image, taken by Nautricity’s Chief Executive Officer Cameron Johnstone on April 16, 2017, shows Nautricity’s CoRMAt tidal turbine during installation at tidal test site in Orkney, UK.

The installation operation of the 500kW contra-rotating CoRMAT turbine, taking place at the European Marine Energy Center (EMEC), is scheduled to be completed by April 24, 2017.

Glasgow-based tidal energy developer, Nautricity, hired First Marine Solutions to conduct the installation of the turbine and a station keeping system.

The turbine has been transported from Montrose using Norwegian vessel Olympic Challenger for installation and commissioning at the Fall of Warness test site.
