The COAST Engineering Research Group at the University of Plymouth is looking to add a postdoctoral research fellow in marine renewable energy to its team.

The COAST Engineering Research Group at the University of Plymouth is looking to add a postdoctoral research fellow in marine renewable energy to its team.

The responsibilities for the position include carrying out research work around the assessment of ocean energy resources, including wave, tidal and offshore wind energy, and the technologies for their exploitation.

The work will be in carried out in the framework of the Intelligent Community Energy (ICE), an EU-funded research project dedicated to improving, developing and promoting new smart solutions for energy production, storage and consumption for islands or remote communities, according to the University of Plymouth.

The candidate should have an undergraduate degree and PhD in engineering, ideally related to coastal engineering and/or ocean engineering, and some experience in numerical modelling, preferably applied to wave, hydrodynamics or wind modelling.

The deadline to apply for the position has been set for April 27, 2017.

The COAST Engineering Research Group at University of Plymouth is formed from a group of academics, postdocs and PhD students carrying out work on European and UK projects in coastal engineering and ocean energy.

The group benefits from access to the £19 million COAST Laboratory, equipped with facilities for marine renewable energy and coastal engineering.
