Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has decided to cold stack one of its drillships.
In its latest fleet status report on Thursday, the driller said that the drillship Noble Bully I is en route to Curaçao, preparing to cold stack.
The drillship has been working for Shell in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico from March 2012 until March 2017. The rig’s latest dayrate was $488,000.
Noble Bully I is of a GustoMSC Bully PRD 12000 design built in 2011.
Further in the fleet report, the driller said that an unnamed client exercised final two 30-day priced options for the jack-up rig Noble Regina Allen . The 2013-built rig is operating off United Kingdom for an undisclosed dayrate. The jack-up’s contract expiration date is set for mid-July 2017.
Between the fourth quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018, the Noble Regina Allen is expected to start working for ExxonMobil on a 22-well plug and abandonment (P&A) program in Canada.
