Offshore driller Odfjell Drilling has been awarded a contract by the Austrian oil firm OMV for the Deepsea Bergen semi-submersible drilling rig.
Further to a letter of intent announced back in March, Odfjell Drilling on Friday signed a firm contract with OMV’s Norwegian unit, OMV (Norge) AS, for one firm high-pressure high-temperature well (HPHT well) off Norway.
The well is located in production license 644.
The contract also includes options for two additional HPHT-wells on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Odfjell Drilling said the work is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2018 and has an expected duration of approximately 100 days, excluding options.
