Swedish tidal energy developer Minesto is looking to enter into a framework agreement for onshore engineering services.

The agreement will cover general support services for a variety of operational needs including the provision of onshore lifting services, as well as the provision of engineering and mechanical design services.

The scope of work will also include provision of industrial electrical engineering services and support, as well as the renting services of portable plant equipment, according to the tender published on the Welsh government’s procurement portal, Sell2Wales.

Minesto has recently secured a marine license from Natural Resources Wales for the installation and operation of a 500kW Deep Green tidal power plant, scheduled for deployment off Anglesey in Wales later this year.

Prior to that, Minesto signed an agreement with shipping company Stena Line for the construction of assembly hall at the port in Holyhead, which is expected to be completed by June 2017 and used for the upcoming roll-out of Minesto’s Deep Green technology.

The deadline to apply to the tender for onshore services has been set for May 5, 2017.
