Peruvian LNG cargo heading for Spain

Peru’s only liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita last week dispatched a cargo of liquefied natural gas to Spain.

Peru’s only liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita last week dispatched a cargo of liquefied natural gas to Spain.

According to the shipping data released by the state-owned Perupetro, the 138 000-cbm Sestao Knutsen LNG carrier left the liquefaction plant on April 18.

The 2007-built LNG carrier is the second consecutive vessel to be sent to Spain, however, the exact destination of the latest cargo has not been revealed.

With the latest shipment, Peru’s 4.4 mtpa liquefaction plant dispatched 394 cargoes in total, since it began operations in June 2010.
