Classification society ABS has signed an agreement with South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) to support safety and apply class guidance to a conceptual floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) unit.
The project is planned to commence at the end of May and last for twelve months.
ABS said it will review the conceptual design according to the applicable class requirements and provide guidance to support safety during the development.
“We are pleased to sign this agreement and work with DSME to support new innovations and technology advancements in the offshore industry,” Ken Richardson, ABS Executive Vice President of Global Offshore , said.
