BSCCL to Build Bangladesh-Myanmar Subsea Link

Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company (BSCCL) and Singapore’s Blueberry Telecom announced plans to install a submarine cable between Bangladesh and Myanmar.

According to reports, the cable, which will be 250 kilometers long with the export capacity of 100 gigabits per second (Gbps), will cost around USD 25 million.

The new submarine cable will connect Cox’s Bazar and Myanmar’s coastal city of Sittwe, and will have a lifespan of around 20 years.

According to BSCCL, the cable installation work will last approximately six months.

The cable will be operated by joint venture company named BSCCL-Blueberry Bangladesh.
