French tubular solutions specialist Vallourec has launched a new drill pipe connection designed to drill in the most challenging environments.

The ‘VAM X-Force’ connection was developed to push the limits of the existing technologies to reach deeper, more remote hydrocarbon reservoirs, the company explains.

Namely, Vallourec has said that its new drill pipe connection was designed to boost essential parameters to improve efficiency and operational performance of a drilling program, by achieveing higher rates of penetration (ROP) and lower non-productive times (NPT).

According to Vallourec, its next generation of drilling connections designed to improve mechanical, operational and economic performance, is already in use by major oil and gas operators

VAM X-Force was jointly developed by combining the traditional double shoulder design with an innovative thread profile in the R&D centers in Houston and Aulnoye-Aymeries, with the support of the engineering and commercial teams across the group.
