Swedish tidal energy developer Minesto is recruiting for a general purpose marine operative who would join its team as it delivers the Deep Green tidal plant off Wales.

The overall responsibility for the position is to support the offshore and onshore operations team in all processes, Minesto said.

The scope of work includes handling Minesto’s tidal system that resembles a kite, offering onshore and offshore deployment support for the power plant, as well as performing basic mechanical checks on the plant as required.

The position is open to an experienced GPO, Rigger, AB, EDH, SG1A or Marine Technician, Minesto noted, with the deadline for applications set for May 26, 2017.

Minesto’s 500kW Deep Green tidal power will be deployed off the coast of Anglesey later this year.

The plant will feature a single Deep Green tidal device that produces power when the water current creates a hydrodynamic lift force on the wing which pushes the kite forward. It will also include a seabed foundation and a buoy moored at surface.
