Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has approved the plan for development and operation of Centrica-operated Oda field, located in the North Sea licence PL 405.
The operator of the field, on behalf of the partners, submitted the development plan in 2016.
The proposed development will include a 4-slot seabed template with two production wells, and one water injection well, which will tie back to the Ula platform.
Oil will be transported via the Norpipe system to the Teesside Terminal in the UK, while the gas will be sold at the platform to Ula for re-injection into the Ula reservoir to improve recovery.
This subsea tie-in will be reusing the existing Oselvar infrastructure from the Ula platform. Production from Oselvar will cease in order to allow Oda production to start.
The Oda field is scheduled to start production in August 2019, with the expected investment of about NOK 5.4 billion.
The partners in the Oda field are Centrica (operator) with 40% stake, Suncor Energy Norge holds 30%, Aker BP 15% and Faroe Petroleum 15% stake.
