Following the start of gas production at Eni’s Jangkrik development off Indonesia, Offshore Energy Today has obtained images of the project made by one of the workers involved in the project execution.

This deep water project was brought online on Monday, May 15, which was ahead of schedule and three and a half years after the project sanctioning.

The photos of the project were sent to Offshore Energy Today by Bryan Montalbo, an Electrical & Instrument Integration/Hook-Up Supervisor at Saipem. Montalbo has been involved with the project for about two and a half years.

The Jangkrik development comprises the gas fields Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East, located in the Muara Bakau block, Kutei basin, in the deep water of Makassar Strait.

Production from ten deep water subsea wells, connected to the newly built Floating Production Unit (FPU) Jangkrik, will gradually reach 450 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d), equivalent to 83,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed).

The Italian company Eni acts as the operator with a 55% stake and its partners are Engie E&P with 33.334% and PT. Saka Energi Muara Bakau with 11.666% interest.
