The developer of advanced technology systems Lockheed Martin is seeking a Chief Engineer for marine and tidal energy systems.
The responsibilities for the position include providing technical leadership for wave, tidal and river energy projects and programs.
The candidate will also be tasked with identifying opportunities for maximizing Lockheed Martin’s added value in growing commercial business, and creating Lockheed Martin’s intellectual property.
The company noted the candidate should have at least 12 years of experience, with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in an alternative energy engineering or related firm, engaged in the design, analysis and specification of alternative energy technologies, with particular emphasis on wave and tidal energy systems.
The position , based in Moorestown, New Jersey, USA, will report to the Advanced Energy Generation Chief Engineer.
To remind, Lockheed Martin designed the nacelle for the AR1500 tidal turbine, used for Atlantis Resources’ MeyGen tidal array project.
The 1.5MW turbine, said to be one of the most technologically advanced tidal turbines ever deployed, has since been operating at full power and delivering electricity to UK grid.
Drew Blaxland, Director of Turbines and Engineering Services at Atlantis Resources, said earlier that the initial data analysis shows the AR1500 tidal turbine is producing at least 4% more energy than the guaranteed contractual baseline.
