Master Point Rope Access Solutions will be the first rope access service provider for Block Island Wind Farm, the first offshore wind farm in the United States, according to the company’s social media pages.

The Block Island Wind Farm has been delivering electricity to the mainland grid since December 2016.

As of 1 May , Block Island is no longer powered by diesel generators after the Block Island Power Company had transferred the island’s electrical system to Deepwater Wind’s offshore wind farm.

The 30MW offshore wind farm features five GE Renewable Energy Haliade 150-6MW turbines, which were installed by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s Brave Tern.
