Australian LNG player Santos named Vanessa Guthrie to the company board as an independent non-executive director with effect on 1 July 2017.
The appointment of Guthrie is part of the board’s ongoing renewal process, following the retirement of Scott Sheffield at the conclusion of the recent Annual General Meeting, Santos said in its statement.
She brings experience in the mining industry across a variety of roles including operations, environment, community, indigenous affairs, corporate development and sustainability.
Guthrie was previously managing director and CEO of Toro Energy and VP sustainable development at Woodside Energy, and is currently chair of the Minerals Council of Australia and a non-executive director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
