Swan Hunter has completed mobilisation and commissioning of a flexlay spread onto EMAS Chiyoda Subsea’s multi-lay vessel Lewek Constellation for flexible risers installation.

The lay equipment comprises Swan Hunter’s new-build loading tower complete with tensioner, a 26-meters basket carousel provided by a joint venture partner, plus project-specific components.

The equipment was lifted from a transportation barge by and onto Lewek Constellation in port of Rotterdam, after a river transport from the carousel & loading tower assembly yard. The spread will now be used for spooling the flexible products in Kalundborg, Denmark, before installation offshore Ghana in late June.

“This mobilisation marks a significant step forward for Swan Hunter. It is a proud moment for us to deliver the new-build equipment to our client on time. Several unique design features and deck integration solutions also contributed to a safe and efficient mobilisation. With our new equipment now deployed in the field, we look forward to operational feedback, with our goal to ever optimise our installation equipment fleet,” Gerard Kroese , Swan Hunter project sponsor.
