Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped a cargo of liquefied natural gas to Spain.

Sovcomflot’s 170,200-cbm SCF Melampus loaded a cargo on May 23 and is heading for Spain, the shipping data shows.

However, the state-owned Perupetro did not reveal the exact destination of the vessel, which was the third sent to Spain in May.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 399 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
