Hexatronic Cable Heading to Rampion

Swedish fiber optic cable infrastructure provider Hexatronic is delivering 17.5 kilometres of its double armored 96 fiber submarine cable to the Rampion offshore wind farm in the UK.

Swedish fiber communications infrastructure provider Hexatronic is delivering 17.5 kilometres of its double armored 96 fiber submarine cable to the Rampion offshore wind farm in the UK.

Rampion is a 400MW wind farm currently under construction off the Sussex coast.

The wind farm comprises 116 MHI Vestas 3.45MW wind turbines, the first one of which was installed in March 2017.

The GBP 1.3 billion project is owned by E.ON, the UK Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian energy company Enbridge.

The project is due to be completed and operational in 2018.
