Turkish authorities have reportedly recovered what is believed to be one of the largest ever drug seizures in the country’s history.
According to Anadolu News Agency , some 1070 kilograms of heroin were found aboard an offshore supply vessel Commander Tide during a raid that happened on June 2 off the Suez Canal.
After boarding the ship, the security forces reportedly found the drugs in the hidden compartments aboard the ship.
Anadolu New Agency has shared a video apparently showing the operation.
As for the vessel itself, information available is scarce. The ship was built in 1984. It was previously named Tiger II.
