Maersk Connector Grounds for Walney Extension (Video)

DeepOcean has performed the first engineered grounding of the Maersk Connector during export cable pull-in operations on DONG Energy’s 660MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm.

DeepOcean has performed the first engineered grounding of the Maersk Connector during export cable pull-in operations on DONG Energy’s 660MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm.

The company has shared a video of the maiden grounding of the Maersk Connector at Morecambe Bay.

The Walney Extension wind farm is being constructed in the Irish Sea, some 35km northwest from the Fleetwood and Blackpool coast.

The wind farm will consist of 40 MHI Vestas and 47 7MW Siemens wind turbines, scheduled to be commissioned in 2019.
