Germany’s MAN Diesel & Turbo has been selected by the Norwegian operator Knutsen OAS Shipping to supply engines for the latter’s two 180,000-cbm LNG newbuildings.

MAN will supply four 5G70ME-GI engines with EGR systems for the two vessels scheduled for delivery in 2020.

Vessels are set to serve Gas Natural Fenosa and Endesa and deliver liquefied natural gas from Cheniere’s Corpus Christy LNG export facility under their respective 20-year liquefied natural gas sale and purchase agreements.

Under the terms of their respective SPAs, the Spanish utilities have agreed to purchase a combined total of over 1 million tons per annum of LNG upon the commencement of operations from the LNG export facility currently being developed near Corpus Christi, Texas.
