Polish Lech Kaczyński LNG terminal in Świnoujście received its 17th cargo of liquefied natural gas, according to Gaz-System’s spokesperson.

The 2007-built, 210,110-cbm Al Ruwais loaded at Qatar’s Ras Laffan on May 29 and is discharging a cargo at the terminal on Monday, AIS data provided by the vessels tracking website, MarineTraffic shows

Cargoes from Qatar are delivered under a 20-year contract Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG), Polish oil and gas company, serving as an intermediary for the purposes of LNG supplies to the terminal has in place with Qatargas.

The terminal, Poland’s flagship project to diversify gas supplies and reduce dependence on pipeline imports from Russia, is operated by Polskie LNG, a unit of Gaz-System.

Earlier this month, the facility received its first cargo of liquefied natural gas from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility in the United States.

Gaz-System has earlier this year made a decision to expand the plant’s capacity to 7.5 billion cubic meters per year instead of the current 5 bcm/y.
