UAE’s Zakher Marine International and Quality Marine Services have reportedly taken delivery of their first China-built offshore barge.
According to the Emirates News Agency , the delivery is a part of the order consisting of three barges, ordered at a price of around $350 million in total.
The news agency cited Ali El Ali, Executive Director of ZMI, who said: “We have designed and built the most sophisticated and advanced barge, as part of three new barges constructed in China at a cost of US$350 million (AED1.2 billion). These barges are considered the most advanced in the market today, in terms of size and technology, specifically in the MENA region.”
The barges are designed for a wide range of services, such as well services, drilling support, floatel, offshore wind, and maintenance work.
