Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation (OTE) has appointed Thomas Kostigen to its advisory board in the role of Senior Sustainability Advisor.

Kostigen will advocate for OTE and its technology, which promotes renewable energy and fresh water to communities in need worldwide, while working with management to create awareness of OTE within the impact investing community.

Impact investments seek to foster positive social and financial returns, as they address social challenges, such as natural resource inefficiencies, community development, or education, among other issues, while at the same time providing investment opportunities.

Kostigen said: “OTE’s solutions to the lack of affordable and sustainable energy and water in developing nations are what the world needs today. Abdication of climate policy by the USA on a federal level necessitates further and more large-scale actions by companies and individuals.”

Thomas Kostigen is best known for authoring the environmental book called The Green Book. He founded The Climate Survivalist column for USA Today and is a former global columnist for The Wall Street Journal Digital Network and editor at Bloomberg News.

Kostigen also directs directs an Impact Investing conference annually for sophisticated investors and financial advisors, OTE informed.

OTE is a Pennsylvania-based company taht designs and develops deep-water hydrothermal clean-energy systems which include producing fossil-fuel free electricity through Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) and environmentally friendly cooling though Seawater Air Conditioning (SWAC).

To remind, OTE recently entered the public market through reverse merger into TetriDyn Solutions.

Also, the company received the approval for the construction of a 15MW OTEC power plant in the Virgin Islands of the United States last year.
